Terms of Purchase
Purchase terms for Adit Marine products, including installation quality, buyer inspection and ongoing system maintenance responsibilities.
Scope and purchase information
These terms apply to purchases from Adit Marine. Read them with the product instructions, your accepted quote or order details, and our Shipping and Returns policies. Check the product selection, quantities, delivery details and any installation requirements before ordering. Contact us if anything is unclear.
Prices, payment arrangements and delivery charges are those shown at checkout or in your accepted quote. Dispatch and delivery estimates are quoted individually. These terms do not retrospectively change an existing order.
Buyer responsibility for installation quality
The buyer is responsible for arranging suitable installation and ensuring the quality of that installation is inspected before the system is used. Use a suitably qualified and competent marine installer and follow the supplied product instructions and the vessel and engine manufacturers’ requirements.
Arrange an installation-quality inspection covering component suitability, pipe and hose connections, clamps, supports, valve orientation, access, and leak-free operation. Have the installer confirm that the installation is secure and suitable for the vessel before commissioning. Do not operate a system with an unresolved installation defect.
Monthly system inspections and maintenance
The buyer is responsible for inspecting and maintaining the installed system throughout its service life. Carry out a system check at least monthly for damage, leaks, corrosion, loose connections, and wear and tear. Check accessible pipes, hoses, clamps, valves, seals, fittings and mounting points.
Follow all maintenance and replacement intervals in the supplied instructions, including any checks required more often than monthly. A monthly check does not replace checks before use or after servicing, impact or a suspected fault. Arrange a competent marine technician’s inspection where components are inaccessible or you are unsure of their condition.
Repair or replace worn, damaged or leaking components before further use. Keep a record of installation inspections, monthly checks, servicing and repairs to help track the condition of the system.
Safe inspection and responding to faults
Inspect only with the engine and relevant equipment stopped. Do not disconnect any raw-water hoses unless the seacock supplying those feed lines has been closed first. Follow the installation instructions and use a competent marine technician if you are unsure.
Before restarting or flushing, ensure all connections are correctly reassembled and secured, and restore the seacock to the open position required by the operating instructions. Never run or flush the engine with the seacock closed.
If you find a leak, damage, abnormal wear or an unsafe installation, stop using the affected system and arrange inspection and repair. If water is entering the vessel, follow the vessel’s emergency procedures and seek appropriate assistance. Do not continue operating a system known to be unsafe.
Product suitability and use
Give accurate vessel, engine and pipe measurements when requesting a quote or selecting a system. Confirm suitability with Adit Marine or your installer if you are uncertain. Use the products only for their intended application and within the operating limits stated in the supplied instructions. Test-rig pressure figures shown in promotional material are not product operating-pressure ratings.
Do not make alterations or substitute components without confirming that they are suitable.
Shipping, returns and faults
Our Shipping policy explains delivery charges and arrangements. Our Returns policy explains change-of-mind returns, approval requirements, faulty or incorrectly supplied products, and repair shipping. Contact hello@aditmarine.com.au before returning an item so the correct arrangements can be confirmed.
Report suspected product faults promptly, with your order details and a description of the issue. Where safe, include photographs. Failure to maintain or correctly install a system may be relevant to the cause of a particular problem, but does not automatically remove your statutory rights or invalidate every claim.
Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable law.
Where Australian Consumer Law consumer guarantees apply, you are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
Questions or assistance
Contact hello@aditmarine.com.au with questions about these terms, product suitability, installation or maintenance before purchase or use. If you are unsure whether a system is safe to operate, stop and seek advice from a competent marine technician.
